About ACSEL

Welcome

The Asian Conference on Safety & Education in Laboratory (ACSEL) is an annual conference organized by leading universities in Asia to provide a platform for scientists, engineers, researchers, and professionals to discuss the management and education of environmental health and safety. "Security by yourselves and consideration of environment" are the duty of all members in universities and research institutes. We understand the many challenges to improve in an environmental safe level and compliance in parallel with guaranteeing the activity of research. Furthermore, it is our duty to educate employees and students and produce talented people to the society, who have the knowledge and the morality on environmental health and safety.

This year's ACSEL conference was not hosted on-site. However, being connected and sharing ideas is important. We decided to have a web hosted conference where all local country sites and all participating individuals can connect on-line on 14th January 2022 with the poster exhibitions from 10th to 15th January 2022. The conference, with the theme “Growing Together with Safety and Research Activities”, will feature keynote lectures on attitude and policy about laboratory safety, safety education program, and the strategies for laboratory safety promotion. The technical sessions will cover a wide range of areas, including international cooperation aiming at increasing the level of laboratory safety and responding the globalization of laboratories in each country.

History of ACSEL

1st International Symposium on Safety and Health Education in the University was held at Ehime University, Japan, in January 2013. We undersigned Ehime Declaration to the following;

1. We will continue to hold symposia on health and safety education in the university.
2. We will establish a network of health and safety education leaders for mutual exchange.
3. We will aim to achieve a world-class standard for health and safety education.

We have been convinced that there are a lot of issues which should be solved in laboratory safety and we should share the useful information and good examples to improve the laboratory safety in each Asian county.
